The Jesselton Hotel is a beautifully restored hotel with colonial-inspired décor that has a nice and likable doorman in a white suit and pith hat and housekeepers who wear traditional English maid uniforms. It was the first hotel in Kota Kinabalu opened since 1954. Rooms are very clean and air conditioned, beds comfortable, facilities modern, showers hot and the door locks are old style. Wi-Fi is very fast and staff very efficient and helpful. It is located in the centre of everything; the popular Bak Kut Teh (pork rib soup) restaurant is over the road! What else do you need?!
