If one is planning to visit Sabah’s topmost beach, then this is the answer. This place is inhabited by the Rungus people, the most traditionally ethnic group in Sabah. ‘Simpang Mengazou’ means ‘Pirate Junction’ in original rungus, and in Malay it is known as Simpang Mengayau. The few remaining long houses here are only for the tradition and not for the purpose for what it was mainly built for years ago. It takes almost three hours to reach Tip of Borneo from Kota Kinabalu by road. Both the breeze and the waves are quite strong here.
