This is one of Labuan’s ‘Must- Go’ places. This is not at all a chimney but a tall brick structure rumoured to be built as a lighthouse. But basically no one knows the exact purpose of this structure. Another rumour is that it was actually constructed as a furnace in order to produce coal. This 100ft tower is quite an architectural marvel built on a 3ft deep footing. The best thing about this place is the seafront view that it provides. The air- conditioned museum is quite informative, displaying the rich history of Labuan’s coal. And like many other Labuan attractions, this place is absolutely free.
