Manukan Island is the 2nd largest island among the 5 islands that constitute Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, which is the first national marine in Malaysia. The islands are located off Kota Kinabalu and can be accessed by boats. It is locally known as Pulau Manukan and has the most developed tourism infrastructure, which includes electricity, sewage system, support-water, solar public telephone, restaurants, chalets, clubhouse, diving centre, football field, swimming pool, etc. The southern coastline of the island has long stretches of beaches, of which the best is at the eastern tip. The coral reefs make the offshore ideal for swimming, diving and snorkelling.
