The beautiful small tropical Lankayan Island lies towards the eastern part of Sabah. The island is the preferred choice of scuba diving enthusiasts as well as people who wish to just relax and enjoy. The island has one resort but, the prices are quite high. The area around this island is officially protected mainly because of its huge bio-diversity. Starting from the month of June till the month of September, the island serves as the nesting place for huge number of turtles. It is also during this period, the baby turtles hatch from the eggs and make their way to the ocean.
