The Turtle Island is located at a distance of 40km from Sandakan. It mainly comprises of three islands which include Gulisan, Selingan and Bakungan Kechil. The specialty of this island is the turtles that are available in plenty in and around the area. This island also happens to be place where Hawksbill Turtles and Green Turtles lay their eggs during night time. Travellers also get the opportunity to snorkel in the crystal clear waters of the ocean. This can prove to be a great experience for all travellers as they get the chance to interact closely with different species of turtles.
